Common Causes of Motorcycle Accidents

As a motorcyclist, you enjoy taking to the open road as often as possible. Regardless of your destination, you always look forward to the drive.

Unfortunately, motorcycle accidents remain a common problem throughout the United States. There are many causes of such accidents, including but not limited to:

  • Negligence on behalf of another driver, such as not sharing the road or speeding.
  • Road hazards.
  • Passenger vehicle pulling into the path of the motorcycle.

In the event of a motorcycle accident, the person on the bike is almost always seriously injured. With little to no protection, especially in the event of a collision with a larger vehicle, it is difficult to escape without injury.

Tip: motorcyclists can wear a variety of safety gear, including a helmet, to help protect them in the event of an accident.

Knowing the common causes of motorcycle accidents can help you better understand what is going on around you at all times. Pay close attention to other drivers, as well as potential roadway hazards, to improve your chance of avoiding a potentially serious accident.
