The Dangers of Drowsy Driving

An auto accident can happen for a number of reasons, with drowsy driving often time the culprit.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), a survey of nearly 100,000 people showed that 1 of 25 admitted to dozing off while driving. This corresponds with the estimate from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) that driver fatigue causes approximately 100,000 accidents every year.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, it is time to pull off the road to take a rest:

  • Feeling your head bobbing up and down
  • Drifting into other lanes of travel
  • Missing an exit
