Decide if you need a Personal Injury Attorney

Hiring a personal injury attorney is not as simple as it sounds. Yes, you can schedule a free consultation but knowing if you actually need an attorney may be beyond your level of expertise.

Generally speaking, when your injuries are minor you do not need to seek out an attorney. In this case, your suit probably isn’t worth their time. You have to remember that the majority of personal injury attorneys work on a contingency basis – this means the amount they get paid is based on how much they are able to win. If it is a small case, an attorney will still have to put in the same amount of time (as a large one) but in the end they don’t have the ability to earn enough money.

Of course, if your claim involves a serious injury, permanent damages, complex issues, or product liability, you are probably best off getting the help of a personal injury attorney sooner rather than later.

Are you on the fence? Can’t decide if you need a personal injury attorney? As noted above, you can request a free consultation to see where you stand. The attorney you speak with will be able to tell you whether or not you need their help.
